Volodymyr Grinchenko was born and grew up in Nikolayev, southern Ukraine. In 1993-94, Volody became a Christian, was baptized, and joined the Seventh-day Adventist Church. After becoming a Christian, he felt a strong desire and call from God to dedicate his life fully to the ministry. During several years, God was shaping and teaching him how to do ministry, by placing him in different positions such as a Pathfinder Director, Youth Leader, local Elder, etc.
In 2001, Volody proceeded to work on his Bachelor’s degree in Theology, with emphasis in Social Ministry from the Zaoksky Theological Seminary in Russia. While studying at the seminary, Volody and Agnesa developed a strong friendship that ultimately lead to their wedding in September of 2003. Immediately following their marriage, the conference sent them to conduct an evangelistic series in Crimea, thus starting their journey in ministry.
In July of 2007, after pasturing for three and a half years at the 7th Nikolayev Church, the Grinchenko family with their two beautiful children, Nikita and Zlata, went to the Southern Adventist University to obtain a Master’s degree in Homiletics and Church Ministry. In December of 2009, Volody graduated and after accepting a call from the Chesapeake Conference, made the decision to move to Maryland to pastor the Waldorf Seventh-day Adventist Church.
At this moment, Volody is a blessed husband, a happy father of three, with the newest addition of his daughter Sophia. He enjoys and feels honored to minister to the people at the Waldorf SDA Church, especially by helping and encouraging them to build a new church facility.
